Privacy policy
Kaasu, by SR Eternals · version 1, effective on the day Kaasu is first published.
Kaasu does not collect, transmit or share your data. It has no internet permission. Everything it reads and everything it stores stays on your phone.
1Who we are
Kaasu is made by SR Eternals. This policy covers the Kaasu Android app and this website.
Contact and grievance address: to be published with the app. This policy is not final until a monitored address appears here.
2What Kaasu accesses on your phone, and why
- Notifications from the payment apps you choose. This is the core feature: it is how Kaasu sees a payment at all. You pick the apps, and you can change that list at any time.
- The microphone, only while you are holding the voice button to add a spend by speaking.
- Biometrics, through Android’s own system prompt, if you turn the app lock on. Kaasu never sees your fingerprint or face — Android only tells it yes or no.
3What Kaasu stores on your phone
- The payments you have confirmed, their categories, and your salary plan.
- The text of an alert it has read, kept for up to 30 days so a better reading rule can be applied to it later, then deleted automatically.
- A voice transcript, if you used voice entry, which you can clear at any time.
All of it is in a database encrypted with SQLCipher, using a random key held in the Android Keystore.
4What Kaasu never does
- Store one-time codes. They are discarded the moment they are recognised and are never written down.
- Read notifications from an app you have not chosen. For every other app the only thing read is the app’s own name, and then it stops.
- Use analytics, advertising, or any third-party component that transmits.
- Sell, share or transfer your data. There is nothing to sell: none of it leaves the phone.
- Offer loans, credit, investments or personalised financial advice.
5Voice
Speech is turned into text by Android’s on-device recogniser, which on most phones is a Google system component. Kaasu never receives the audio. Android may download a language pack by itself; that download is Android’s, not Kaasu’s.
6Backups
There is no cloud backup, by design. A backup is a file you create and keep, encrypted with a passphrase you choose. Android’s own automatic backup is switched off for Kaasu.
7Your controls
- View, change or remove any payment.
- Delete all my data in Settings removes the database and its key.
- Export a copy for yourself.
- Uninstalling removes everything. There is no account anywhere to close.
8Children
Kaasu is not directed at children and asks for no age information.
9Changes
Any change to what Kaasu does with data needs a new version of the app and an updated policy published before it. Adding network access would need a recorded decision and a public announcement; the current build cannot reach the network at all, because Android is never asked for permission to.
